Scott Woods leads the From the Fire team. He is an often described “recycled teenager” who loves to spread hope and share encouragement with anyone who will listen. Why? There is a epidemic of hopelessness in our world fueled by division, comparison and a lack of confidence in our inherent value as individuals.
Scott is married to his high school sweetheart, father to two amazing grown children, and “adopted uncle” of more than 100 students who he has had the pleasure of mentoring through collegiate programs at Clemson University.
He is a 3x entrepreneur who overcame his fear and opened his first business at age 45 after 8,030 days working as a CFO/COO all while realizing his calling laid elsewhere.
His speaking career spans numerous stages and audiences from corporate events to youth conferences, on-campus activations, to commencement addresses and chapel services. He cannot help but share the hope that comes when we immerge From the Fire.

Every individual is unique and amazing – one of one – and capable of being a world changer. That philosophy is a cornerstone for the life and career of Scott Woods. Always striving to find the intersection of gifts, talents, and passions with a need in the world, Scott leads the Advocatus Consulting and Silverback Ventures teams.
Scott has built his career around helping companies unlock their potential and growth through optimizing their operational and financial processes, creating a culture of excellence, and building a solid foundation for maximum profit and impact. He is a 3x entrepreneur, consultant, growth coach, speaker, and impact investor who has had the privilege of working with some of the most influential companies in the Charlotte, NC metro area, throughout the Southeast, and beyond.
With over 30 years of leadership, accounting and C-level operational experience, Scott draws from the various companies and engagements he has worked on to truly teach real world application of the theory most just endured in college. As a business owner and consultant, he can empathize with owners but also cut through all the noise to get to root causes of their current issues and create and implement plans to solve those problems and maximize impact.
In addition to the above, Scott is a self-professed “recycled teenager” that loves to speak into the lives of college students and young professionals; helping them navigate the transition from student to adult. He is a mentor and Advocacy and Engagement Board member at Clemson University’s College of Business. He has mentored over 100 students and maintains an “adopted Uncle” role with many of them well into their adult years.
Scott lives in the Charlotte NC suburbs, is married to his high school sweetheart and is the proud father of two grown children. He is an avid hiker, golfer and amateur furniture maker who loves DIY projects and treasure hunting at thrift and antique stores.

Grace’s academic foundation includes graduating Cum Laude from Furman University with a B.A. in Computer Science and minor in Data Analytics. Though, it’s beyond coursework and through immersive experience opportunities—such as cryptology studies in London and math-intensive coursework at Walt Disney World—that she has enhanced her detail-oriented and analytical mindset.
At Furman, Grace was involved in Greek Life, the Computer Science Department, & the Codes Art, and Puzzles Fellowship. Additionally, as many Furman students, she loves learning about CliftonStrengths—her’s being Achiever, Developer, Positivity, Futuristic, and Harmony.
After graduating, Grace pursued the unique opportunity of studying abroad in Dublin, Ireland as a Computer Science Research Intern. In her internship at University College Dublin’s Spatial Dynamics Lab, she mainly took on the role of both UI/UX Designer and Front-End Web Developer for SCORE’s GeoDesign Game. Working closely on this project of rebuilding the GeoDesign Game from scratch using HTML, CSS, and React, deepened both her technical and collaborative skills.
During this experience, Grace quickly discovered her passion for front-end design and development and since then, she has been working with her mentor, Scarlett at Scarlett’s Web Inc., to expand her knowledge and skillset. Now, in Grace’s current role as Lead Designer and Developer at Scarlett’s Web, she helps lead website development projects for a diverse client base, enhancing websites through WordPress and Squarespace, guiding clients on SEO improvements, and advising clients on social media trends.
